The primary functions of a non-woven geotextile are separation, filtration, and drainage. The manufacturing process of these fabrics involves needle punching as opposed to weaving. Non-woven fabrics are referred to by weight (i.e. 3.4 oz. per square yard) and are more feltlike in feel and appearance. They offer permeability and are commonly used in applications where drainage and filtration are of key concern (i.e. in ditches or underneath drains). Nonwoven geotextiles can also be used for erosion control.ย
GATOR FABRIC GF3.5 (80 lbf) is a needle punched non-woven geotextile made of polypropylene fibers. GATOR FABRIC GF3.5 (80 lbf) geotextile is ideal for drainage, filtration and will allow water flow of 165 gallons per minute per square foot (750 L/min/sq. m.) in paver or retaining wall applications. Its filament fibers are used for soil separation and drainage. They combine high durability along with excellent physical and hydraulic properties. It is non-biodegradable.
A fabric layer behind natural and concrete retaining wall, silt fence, foundation walls & pipe, which allows water to drain through.
Recommended behind retaining walls, below fences and pipes.
Engineered for construction applications, this nonwoven geotextile features polypropylene fibers that are needled to form a durable, stable
